This guide was commissioned by the Department of Enterprise, Trade and Employment (now the Department of Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation) in 1997 and takes a potential entrepreneur through the whole process of starting a business, from first thoughts about self-employment to the practicalities of start-up. It was updated and expanded in July 2001, to include new sections on eBusiness and working from home, reflecting the changing trends in Irish small business.
